While 2007 saw the release of both their Happy Birthday full-length and Boogy Bytes Vol.3 mix, Berlin duo Modeselektor has been relatively quiet in 2008. Well, that's about to change, as the pair is planning to take their distinct brand of noisy, chopped-up techno on the road as part of the Jetlag Tour 2008 with Ellen Allien.
With multiple stops scheduled on both sides of the Atlantic, the Jetlag Tour is bound to live up to its name for the artists involved. Questions of sleep deprivation aside, the boys are clearly amped about this tour, as they dropped this exclusive mix into our laps for the XLR8R podcast. Running the gamut from dubstep and bassline to French house and kwaito, this podcast shows that Modeselektor will be bringing some serious heat to the Jetlag Tour this September.

NASA launch officials were forced to hit the "destruct" button on an experimental rocket that launched early Friday morning. The launch and subsequent explosion was captured on both amateur and NASA video, and shows the pieces falling back to Earth.

RATING: 3 Yoda Dogs out of fiveSaw this last night, this was entertaining for sure. if you havent seen the animated versions find them on netflix and watch them, the same guy that did samurai jack and dexters lab make 2 series of clone wars episodes which are really fun to watch.
thumbs up: non stop action and sweet battles keep this moving right along with little downtime.
thumbs down: the 'kiddy' factor could be turned down just a notch. dont call anakin 'sky guy' and dont make a jabba the hutt's uncle speak english and be a flamboiant homo that sounds like a cross between a fat fran drescher and krang from the ninja turtles.
all in all worth watching if youre a fan, otherwise rent it or see batman or pineapple express or step brothers.

Burnt popcorn prompts evacuation at UT dorm
An entire campus dormitory was evacuated overnight Thursday after residents reported a strong odor wafting from the fourth floor.
They were unable to identify the smell, so emergency officials evacuated all 200 people inside as hazmat crews investigated, KVUE-TV reports.
That's when they discovered the devious -- but delicious -- culprit.
"What we found was burnt popcorn. It was popcorn burnt on the fourth floor, and it had a pretty bad odor and it spooked a lot of folks," an AFD spokesperson told KVUE.
But it gets even better. About 45 people complained of respiratory problems as a result of the popcorn smell.
The Austin Fire Department blamed the high number of patients on what they called a "sympathetic reaction."
Most of the evacuees were summer school students and high school cheerleaders attending camp.
